Role Overview
As a Transaction Monitoring Team Lead, you will oversee a team of analysts responsible for investigating transactional activity, reviewing alerts, and escalating suspicious cases in accordance with AML and CTF regulations. You will ensure that monitoring processes are efficient, well-documented, and compliant with internal and regulatory standards. This role combines hands-on case oversight with team management, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily transaction monitoring and investigations, ensuring timely review and escalation of suspicious activity.
- Oversee analysis of merchant profiles, ensuring transactions align with declared business models.
- Manage Transaction Monitoring Requests (TMRs) and ensure proper documentation and resolution.
- Lead the preparation and escalation of Internal Suspicious Activity Reports (ISARs).
- Serve as the main escalation point for complex or sensitive cases.
- Prepare regular reports on team performance, monitoring results, and compliance KPIs.
- Collaborate with Compliance, Risk, Legal, and Product teams to improve processes and support audits.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure adherence to audit and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Proven experience in transaction monitoring or AML roles within the financial or payments industry.
- Previous leadership experience in managing compliance or risk teams.
- Strong analytical and investigative skills with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of AML/CTF frameworks, regulations, and reporting procedures.
- Excellent English communication and reporting skills.
- Proactive, structured, and capable of making informed decisions under pressure.
