Role Overview
We are looking for a confident and experienced Onboarding Specialist to join the compliance team. The role focuses on managing the end-to-end onboarding process for merchants, with a particular emphasis on acquiring services. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise from acquirers and exposure to high-risk verticals such as crypto, forex, and adult, ensuring smooth merchant integration while meeting strict regulatory and scheme requirements. The role involves active communication with international teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of onboarding specialists

• Oversee end-to-end merchant onboarding processes, ensuring quality and compliance

• Act as the key escalation point for complex and high-risk onboarding cases (crypto, forex, adult, etc.)

• Ensure alignment with Visa, Mastercard, and internal compliance standards

• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Risk, and Compliance teams

• Monitor onboarding performance, KPIs, and process efficiency

• Drive process improvements, automation, and scalability of onboarding operations

• Maintain strong documentation, reporting, and audit readiness

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in onboarding, underwriting, or KYC within fintech/payments

• Proven experience in card acquiring and merchant onboarding

• Prior experience managing or mentoring a team

• Strong exposure to high-risk industries (crypto, forex, adult, etc.)

• Solid understanding of Visa/Mastercard requirements and payments compliance

• Fluent English; additional languages are a plus
