Our client is an international Electronic Money Institution specializing in online payment processing solutions. They offer a range of services including payment gateway services, global payment processing, merchant accounts, open banking, and recurring and mass payments. Their diverse clientele includes online businesses from various sectors, supporting multiple currencies and payment methods.
Role Overview
Join a growing team as an MLRO, where you will spearhead AML/CTF compliance initiatives for a licensed EMI operating across the EU. This role offers significant impact and growth opportunity, demanding deep expertise in AML regulations and strong stakeholder management skills. You will work with modern compliance tools in a hybrid work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead AML/CTF compliance for a licensed EMI operating across the EU.
Oversee suspicious activity monitoring.
Maintain the financial crime control framework in line with FIN-FSA requirements.
Develop and implement AML policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential compliance issues.
Provide training and guidance to staff on AML compliance and regulatory changes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate compliance measures into business processes.
Report to senior management and regulatory bodies on compliance status and risk management strategies.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in the compliance program to adapt to evolving regulatory landscapes.
Requirements
5+ years of relevant experience in AML, Compliance, or Financial Crime within fintech, payments, EMI or another regulated financial services environment.
Strong knowledge of EU AML/CTF regulatory requirements and familiarity with FIN-FSA expectations and supervisory standards.
Proven experience in developing, implementing, and overseeing AML/CTF compliance frameworks, policies, and controls.
Hands-on experience with transaction monitoring, suspicious activity detection, investigations and escalation processes.
Solid understanding of financial crime risk assessment, KYC/CDD/EDD, sanctions and regulatory reporting requirements.
Experience working with transaction monitoring and AML compliance systems/tools.
Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work effectively with senior management, internal teams and regulatory authorities.
Professional AML/Compliance certification such as CAMS, ICA or equivalent is considered a strong advantage.
Fluent English and Finnish are required.
