Financial Controller
Lead financial control and drive strategic growth in a dynamic payment infrastructure company 🚀
About the Client
Our client provides payment infrastructure for businesses and merchants. Its services bring together card payments, payouts and other payment methods through a single platform.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Treasury and Payments Officer to join our fintech team. You will run daily reconciliation against provider statements, prepare and process payments in fiat and crypto, execute OTC and exchange operations, and help manage liquidity.
This role is built around detailed, repetitive work with data and payment orders. It suits someone who notices one wrong line among thousands, can describe a problem clearly and knows when to escalate it.
You will work with the Head of Treasury, the Reconciliation team and FP&A.
Key Responsibilities
Own group budgets across P&L and cash flow by entity, business line and cost centre, and maintain rolling forecasts.
Analyse plan-versus-actual results, identify variance drivers and present clear commentary to management.
Lead group consolidation, including intercompany eliminations, consistent accounting policies and reporting in a common currency.
Deliver the monthly management reporting package within the period-close timetable.
Oversee foreign-currency revaluations and explain realised and unrealised FX differences.
Reconcile payment provider balances, rolling reserves and funds in transit with the ledger, working with Operations to resolve open positions.
Coordinate with external accountants and auditors, providing supporting breakdowns and documentation.
Automate reporting with Power Query and BI dashboards, document processes and establish control procedures.
Requirements
At least 3 years of experience in financial control, FP&A or management reporting, including budgeting and plan-versus-actual analysis.
Proven ability to work across P&L, balance sheet and cash flow, and understand how the three statements connect.
Hands-on group consolidation experience, including intercompany eliminations, consistent accounting policies and multiple currencies.
Hands-on experience with FX revaluation, open positions and realised versus unrealised FX differences.
Advanced Excel skills in financial modelling, Power Query, pivot tables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS and INDEX+MATCH.
Experience with an ERP system such as NetSuite, 1C, Xero or Odoo, and multi-currency operations in high-risk environments.
A degree in finance, accounting or economics.
Payments, PSP, acquiring or e-money experience is preferred.
Power BI, Looker, Tableau, SQL queries and joins, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or CFA certification (including in progress), and experience automating manual Excel processes are advantageous.
Languages: English B2, Russian C1.
